More testing will be needed to determine if any device skipping happens if both IDE and SATA devices are connected at the same time.

i discovered a bug in static pattern writing that did not fill the buffer correctly.  now it works fine.

messing with the makefiles, but nothing much has changed

So far the code is solid, but live-testing will be the deciding factor in if that is a true statement.

Also, I remember getSize(const char* media) because it is no longer viable to use
