+    Use of MEF names without an explicit '.fits' weren't being interpreted
+    correctly by the expansion code, e.g. "imcopy mef[0]".  The problem was
+    that the code determining the type was trying to open the file to read
+    it, but of course without the extension would fail, but wasn't being

+    A string buffer for expanding @files was not being properly increased
+    in size when using many files/extensions.  This showed up as a
